Filter press case studies and application notes across nine industries: mining, chemical, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, power & new energy, metallurgy, stone, municipal wastewater, and oil & gas.
A practical filter press maintenance checklist from every cycle to every year, the four components that wear (cloths, plates, hydraulics, feed pump), cloth cleaning methods, the safety rules that prevent crushing, pressure-release and handling injuries, and what to record in the press log.
How to install and commission a filter press: foundation and levelling, clearances and cake drop, power, feed, filtrate, air and wash-water services, unloading and assembly, the step-by-step commissioning sequence from closing-pressure check to first sludge cycle, and the mistakes behind most start-up problems.
How to set polymer and coagulant dose for filter press sludge dewatering: typical kg per dry tonne by sludge type, running a drainage jar test, trimming the dose on the press, choosing charge and molecular weight, make-up and injection rules, and when to add ferric or lime.
Where filter press cake goes after dewatering: landfill, land application and composting, incineration and boiler or kiln fuel, raw-material reuse and thermal drying; the cake moisture each route needs, why disposal is charged by wet tonne, and how the press changes the cost.
Why sludge is thickened before dewatering, the thickening methods (gravity, DAF, gravity belt, rotary drum, centrifuge) and which sludge each suits, how feed solids change filter press size and cycle time, and when a thickener can be skipped.
How to order replacement filter press cloths for any make of press: the plate, feed hole, outlet and fixing measurements to send, when to copy the old cloth and when to change fabric, replacement timing, stock levels and lead times.
