Filter press consumables explained — polypropylene, polyester and nylon filter cloths; PP, membrane and recessed filter plates. Material selection, weave patterns, micron ratings, and customization for specific industrial filtration challenges.
Where a filter press really seals, gasketed vs non-gasketed plates, EPDM/NBR/FKM/silicone gasket materials by filtrate, the five causes of plate-to-plate leaks, and how to fit and specify seals.
How to choose filter press cloth step by step: polypropylene, polyester or polyamide; monofilament, multifilament or spun; weave and calendering; what air permeability tells you; and how to fit the cloth to the plate.
Barrel neck, latex edge or drape-over? How filter press cloths are fixed to the plate, which plates each fits, and what to measure before ordering a replacement.
Municipal plants produce roughly 70-90 g dry solids per person per day. Industrial plants vary far more, because chemical sludge from coagulation often exceeds biological sludge. How to estimate dry solids and convert to cake volume.
Quick answer: Divide the cake volume you must produce per cycle by the volume of one chamber, round up, then add one or two spare positions. Chamber volume comes from plate size and chamber depth. Size on dry solids per…
Quick answer: Blinding is fine particles, scale, oil or biological growth lodging inside the weave until flow falls. The signature is cycle time creeping up while everything else looks normal. Identify which of the four causes you have before washing,…
